Michael Matthews of Freedom Fighters vs. Danny Mitchell of LA Boxing

Round 1: Mitchell had the crowd support from the get go.  Both fighters came out swinging hard, Matthews with punches and Mitchell with knees that were inches away from connecting.  Matthews continued to press the pace while Mitchell responded with knees and leg kicks.  Matthews landed a head kick that put Mitchell back on the fence, but it wasn’t enough to put him down.  A fast paced first round.

Round 2: Matthews almost went down after a leg kick but recovered and continued to bring the fight to Mitchell.  After a slip, Mitchell seemed to rest on the fence while Matthews hit him with multiple punches and got the first knockdown of the fight.  Mitchell got up in time to continue but again found himself on the fence.  Matthews put him down with a knee to the midsection as the round ended.

Round 3: Mitchell missed a head kick and Matthews landed a leg kick in response.  Mitchell slipped but was not knocked down.  Mitchell seemed to come out with more fury than the previous two rounds, but fell victim to a lowblow during the melee of kicks and knees between the combatants.  Matthews continued to work Mitchell against the fence until Mitchell used his knees inside the clinch to drive Matthews back.  Matthews fought off a final flurry from Mitchell as the fight came to an end.

Josh Hagerty of May Tec Warriors vs. Louie Hess of High Altitude

Round 1: Hagerty threw early but Hess landed the first punch, backing Hagerty into the fence, and then taking him down to the mat.  Hagerty looked for a choke, but Hess fought out of it, stood up, and landed some hard right hands.  Hess went back to the mat, but again found himself in a sticky situation as Hagerty had him in a face lock.  Hagerty got back to his feet but only for a moment before Hess powered him back down, clearly demonstrating a strength advantage.  Hess rocked him with right hands, and then once Hagerty got back to his feet, Hess picked him up and slammed him to the mat and connected with an illegal strike to the back of the head that led to the ref standing them up to end the round.

Round 2: Hess continued to use his shorter build to his advantage, driving Hagerty to the mat with a takedown.  Hess took Hagerty’s back and was able to flatten him out on the mat.  From there, it was one vicious right hand after another until the ref finally stopped it.

Round 2: Soltero came out swinging hard, landing a series of furious punches but after the frenzy, it was Brown’s turn to play to the crowd, as he signaled he wanted more.  Soltero may have tired himself out with that start.  Brown was able to land punches against the fence and Soltero didn’t have an answer.  Soltero tried for the takedown, but Brown defended it well and put Soltero on his back instead.  Brown wanted the fight back on their feet and let Soltero stand. Soltero covered up on the fence and Brown managed to land some leg kicks, taking advantage of the opening left by Soltero.  Soltero battled back and connected with two strong hooks but ultimately found himself on the fence again, where Brown rained down punches and knees until the round came to an end, the bell saving Soltero.

Round 3: A lot of missed punches to start the round as the fighters were tiring.  Brown again worked the legs of Soltero, then put him against the fence and landed knee after knee, thirteen in all.  Finally, the ref stepped in and declared the fight over.
