LEA POPE (0-0) EASTON BJJ VS ALLISON LANTZ (0-0) LA BOXING

Round One: Immediate clinch eventually gave way to the trading of combination punches and occasional knees. Lantz was especially effective with her leg strikes and was more versatile, but Pope defended well and appeared to control the pace, while landing stronger punches to the head and body.

Round Two: Lantz continued her display of versatility by starting round two with numerous leg kicks to the body and legs, accompanied with the occasional combo and Pope appeared to be affected. Pope clinches and then lands a strong right to the head of Lantz; both fighters are now starting to tire. Towards the end of the round, Lantz once again lands a strong leg kick to the body, but Pope catches Lantz’s leg and throws her to the ground . . . bell.

Round Three: Both fighters jab and trade combos. Lantz continues landing kicks to the body, but again Pope counters and is able to land a strong right hook to the head. Fighters are tired and trading light jabs. Lantz with a strong right knee to the torso. Fighters clinch, trading knees to the body with the occasional uppercut and short jab.

JOSH MARTINEZ (1-1) NEW BREED MULISHA   VS  ADDISON FREEMAN (0-0) SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS

Round One: Martinez begins with strong leg strikes to the body. Time sizing the opponent gives way to strong leg strikes by both competitors. Fighters display striking abilities trading combos. Martinez returns with strong leg kicks to the torso. Martinez strong left kick to Freeman’s groin, time stoppage. Martinez appears to have a left foot injury after the kick to the cup, Bell.

Round Two: Martinez’s leg is obviously injured as he is favouring and protecting it heavily, yet he is still able to utilize his right leg and land a few strong kicks to the body. Freeman clinched and backed Martinez to the cage and is now landing combo’s, along with leg kicks to the body. Freeman lands a few combo’s to the body of Martinez, Martinez counters with strong leg kicks. Fighters seem to be tiring and size each other up to the bell.

Round Three: Freeman lands a few jabs a puts Martinez to the cage. Martinez returns once again with effective leg usage to defend Freeman, gets away from the cage, and eventually lands a few strong leg strikes to the torso. Martinez’s nose is bloodied. Martinez ended the fight with two strong right leg strikes to the body.

BERNARDO FANTI (2-1) EASTON BJJ  VS  SAMUEL FERNANDEZ (1-1) INYODO MARTIAL ARTS

Round One: Fanti is the immediate aggressor beginning with strong legs strikes and knees to the body. Fanti continues landing leg strikes and combo’s to the body of Fernandez. Fanti’s strong front kick to the torso of Fernandez knocks him back to the cage. Fanti is controlling Fernandez around the cage until Samuel is able to land a very strong left hook at the end of the round.

Round Two: Fanti continues with strong leg strikes to the body and lands a nice roundhouse to the head. Fanti clinches and strikes Fernandez’s torso with his knees. Both fighters are tiring and little action. Bell.

Round Three: Fanti begins the round with a nice right leg strike to the lower leg. Clinching for a while and Fanti land a few knees on Fernandez’s torso. Samuel breaks free and lands a strong kick to the torso and follows with a strong right to the head of Fanti; Fanti is bloodied. Bell.

ROMAN CARSON (1-0) GRUDGE TRAINING CENTER VS JR NIELSON (Blue Corner/White Shorts w/ black stripe) (0-0) FUSBOXE

Round One: Carson begins the round with a flurry of combo’s and jabs to the head of Nielson; Nielson is noticeably backing away from the immediate onslaught. Nielson attempts a knee to the body, but lands on Carson’s groin… Carson is allowed his five minutes to recoup. Carson continues with a barrage of hooks and jabs and dominates round one

Round Two: Carson begins this round with two leg strikes to the lower torso/hip area of Nielson. Carson foot sweeps Nielson to the ground, but Nielson quickly returns to his feet. Another flurry of legs strikes to Nielson’s lower legs gives way to a L/R combo to the upper body and another very strong leg strike to the left leg of Nielson. Carson is concentrating his leg strikes now on the left leg of Nielson and switches strategy and is able to land two nice uppercuts on Nielson. Both fighters are starting to tire. Bell.

Round Three: Nielson clinches and brings Carson to the ground. Carson returns to his strategy of round two and lands numerous combo’s, returns with leg strikes to JR’s lower legs, then lands two strong straight jabs to the head. Carson threw Nielson to the ground and landed a strong right hand while Nielson was on his back. Carson is now tired and Nielson is now able to land a few strong L/R hooks, more punching follows and it appears as though Nielson is now taking control of the round. Bell.

MILTON MURPHY (0-0) INNERSTRENGTH FITNESS  VS  ZACH WORTHINGTON (0-0) LA BOXING

Round One: Worthington immediately goes for the clinch and is able to attempt a guillotine choke. Both fighters go to the ground and Murphy is lands in Worthington’s guard. Murphy begins GNP with Worthington restricted by the cage. Both fighters try to choke each other while tangled on the mat. Fighters are able to break free and stand. Worthington lands very strong leg kicks to Murphy’s body. Fighters clinch and fall to the ground. Murphy spends time going back and forth from Worthington’s guard to side control. While in side control Murphy is able to land a few knees to the Worthington’s ribcage. Murphy is trying hard to gain a full mount, had it momentarily, but Worthington was able to work free. Bell.

Round Two: Worthington begins the round with a very strong roundhouse to the head of Murphy. Murphy clinches and brings Worthington to the ground . . . referee breaks them apart as Murphy struck the back of Worthington’s head (1 point deducted from Murphy). Murphy clinches and brings Worthington down once again, is able to take side control, and is throwing elbows to Worthington’s torso. Murphy returns to Worthington’s guard and effectively uses his elbows to grind Worthington’s face, with occasional punches to the side. Murphy picked up Worthington twice and slammed him back down to the mat in an attempt to free up his arms. Bell

Round Three: Worthington begins the round with a nice roundhouse to the head of Murphy. Murphy clinches and brings Worthington down to the mat again. While in Worthington’s guard, Murphy is able to land punches to the torso, then lands a few elbows and jabs to Worthington’s head. Murphy gains side control and GNP ensues. Worthington is able to break free and both fighters return to their feet momentarily before Murphy once again brings Worthington back down to the mat, assumes his guard and continues GNP. Bell.

BEN DE ANDA (0-2) HIGH ALTITUDE MMA  VS  GLENN SPAGNUOLO  (0-0) GUMM MMA

Round One: Both fighters spend time gauging distance and each other. De Anda starts the action with a few leg strikes to Spagnulo’s body. Spagnulo counters with a few strikes to the head but De Anda is able to defend and lands a strong straight punch to the abdominal area. Fighters spend time sizing each other. De Anda with a strong right kick to the stomach. More time spent sizing. De Anda returns with a few strong kicks to the lower left leg and two right hooks to the upper body/head. De Anda attempts a quick guillotine choke, but Spagnulo is able to defend. De Anda lands a few more kicks to the body and Spagnulo counters with a flurry of jabs and combo’s, but De Anda is able to defend. Bell.

Round Two: De Anda with a very strong right roundhouse to the head. Spagnulo clinches and lands a few knees to the body. De Anda attempts a kick to the torso, but Spagnulo catches his leg and both fighters go to the ground. De Anda is able to work a full mount and GNP. De Anda now attempts and is successful with an arm-bar.

Winner: Ben De Anda – Submission – Arm bar @ 1:22 of round Two.     

 

185LBS AMATEUR MMA

ZACHARY WALSH (0-1) INNERSTRENGTH VS NICK BROWN (0-0) CASTLE ROCK BJJ

Round One: Brown starts with an immediate straight kick to Walsh’s body, but Walsh catches Nick’s leg and brings him to the mat. Serious GNP by Walsh ensues and Brown is constrained with is body up against the cage. Walsh is in Brown’s guard when he lands a serious flurry of hammer fists to the head. Referee stoppage as Brown is unable to intelligently defend himself.

Winner: Zachary Walsh – TKO @ 1:58 of round one.

Aaron Schneider vs Rhett Rhinholdt

Round One: Schneider clinches and brings Rhinholdt to the mat. Schneider is in half guard and is able to land a few elbows to the upper body. Schneider takes full mount and GNP ensues Schneider momentarily had Rhinholdt’s back but Rhinholdt manoeuvred around and is now in Schneider’s guard. GNP ensues and Rhinholdt lands a few strong bombs to the head. Both fighters return to their feet. Schneider is now able to effectively use his striking ability and begins landing punches and knees to the body, then a few uppercuts. Schneider clinches, fighters trade knees to the body, Schneider backs up and lands a strong right cross to the upper body. Bell

Round Two: Rhinholdt starts off with a few L/R combos, but Schneider is dictating the pace around the ring. Schneider clinches, brings Rhinholdt to the ground gaining side control, while grinding his elbows in Rhett’s grill and landing a few strikes to the abdomen area. Schneider gains full mount and strikes Rhinholdt in the torso with two right hands, then Schneider lands a few left hands to the face. Schneider has Rhinholdt’s back now landing punches to the left and right side of Rhinholdt’s face. Bell.

Round Three: Fighters must be slightly fatigued as the round starts off with little action. Both fighters trade jabs and combos. Schneider charges and brings Rhinholdt to the mat and now has full mount. Rhinholdt is minimizing the damage as he is able to control the hands and head. Schneider lands a few shots to the face and continues landing intermittent punches to the head and body up to the bell.

TOMMY THOMPSON (5-0) INFINITE MMA  VS  JAMES HARVEY (0-0) INDEPENDENT

Round one: Harvey immediately charges Thompson and is able to score a quick takedown. Both fighters spend time trying to gain advantage on the mat, but Harvey eventually ends up in Thompson’s guard. Harvey lands a few right hands to the body. Thompson is able to limit the damage at this point by controlling the head and arms of Harvey. Thompson is attempting to get back to his feet and in doing so, leaves an arm out there for Harvey to secure an arm bar.

Winner: James Harvey – TKO @ 2:31 of Round One

175LBS AMATEUR MMA

KEITH GREEN (0-2) X FACTOR MUAY THAI VS Matt McFarland

Round One: Green begins the fight with a few strong leg strikes to the torso, alters his attack and starts landing a flurry of punches to the body and head. McFarland looks staggered, but is somehow able to land what was perhaps the hardest straight right of the night and sends Green staggering backwards to the cage. Green regains his composure and continues with his flurry of punches. Green is obviously in control, landing straight lefts, straight rights, kicks to the torso, and even attempted a guillotine choke, but was unsuccessful. Both fighters appear gassed and trade punches to the bell.

Round Two: Green lands a strong straight right to the head and dives in for a guillotine attempt, while kneeing the opponent in the upper body/head area. Fighters disengage and trade L/R combos. Green grabs and slams McFarland to the mat and takes guard, landing periodic shots to the upper body but Matt is able to defend most strikes by controlling the head and arms. Referee stands up both fighters. McFarland lands a leg strike to the body, but Green grabs hold of his right leg and brought him to the mat. Bell.

During the break and before round three the referee and ringside doctor visit Green’s corner and put a stop to the fight due to excessive swelling of the left eye. Left eye was swollen shut by the huge right hand Matt landed in the first round.

Winner: Matt McFarland – TKO in between round two and three.    

205LBS AMATEUR MMA TITLE

RORY OFARELL (7-1) INFINITE MMA VS JEREMY OSHEIM (2-0) DURANGO MMA

Round One: Osheim jabs, clinches, but O’Farrell grabs right leg and brings Osheim to the mat. Both fighters are tangled trying to gain an advantage but end up at a stalemate and are stood up by the referee. Osheim knees O’Farrell in the groin; referee timeout. O’Farrell lands a few kicks to the lower legs and both fighters trade jabs. O’Farrell clinches and both fighters are on the cage. Osheim starts throwing knees to the body and is able to bring O’Farrell down to the mat and assumes half guard. O’Farrell is controlling Osheim’s arms and head. Osheim lands a few rights to the head, along with numerous hammer-fists. Bell.

Round Two: Fighters start by trading jabs. Osheim lands a string right hook to the head while O’Farrell counters with leg kicks to the torso. O’Farrell clinches Osheim up against the cage and brings him down. Both fighters manoeuvre and O’Farrell has Osheim’s back momentarily but the ref stands the fighters up. O’Farrell is now bleeding from the right eye, but lands a strong right hook and clinches Osheim to the cage again. Jeremy knees O’Farrell in the groin; referee timeout (1 point deduction from Osheim). Fighters size each other up. Strong leg strike to the torso by O’Farrell. Very strong and well placed right roundhouse by Osheim lands directly on O’Farrell’s grill. Jeremy knee’s O’Farrell to the groin for a third time at the bell and is sequentially DQ’d.

Winner: Rory O’Farrell – Opponent DQ’d at end of round two    

135LBS AMATEUR MMA

DUSTIN BROWN (0-0) EASTON BJJ   VS CORY KUECKLER (0-0) ZINGANO BJJ

Round One: Fighters begin trading jabs while sizing each other. Kueckler clinches and brings Brown down. Brown managed his way back to his feet. Kueckler clinches and starts landing knees to the torso. Brown drops Kueckler to the mat, is in his guard, and is able to attempt a guillotine, maintains it for a while but Kueckler breaks free and is limiting damage by controlling Brown’s head and arms. Eventually Brown is able to gain advantage in Kueckler’s guard and steps up to drop down massive blows on Kueckler’s head. Bell.

Round Two: Both fighters begin round with kicks to the body and lower legs. Kueckler landed a few nice jabs before Brown clinched and brought him to the ground; Brown is now in Kueckler’s guard. Kueckler is able to land a few jabs from his back and is defending himself well by maintaining control of Brown’s arms and head. Referee stands both fighters up. Brown lands a strong L/R combo; Kueckler is covering his damaged left eye. Brown clinches and slams Kueckler to the mat very hard, gains side control. Bell

Round Three: Both fighters are in good cardio condition as they look energized to start round three. They begin the round sizing each other up. Brown clinches and takes Kueckler down; Brown is in Kueckler’s guard, but is still able to do serious damage with GNP. Kueckler unsuccessfully attempts an arm-bar. Dustin maintains himself in Kueckler’s guard and lands serious head and body shots up to the bell.

NICK LANEY (6-0) INFINITE MMA   VS JEREMY HASTINGS (3-2) COLORDO BJJ

Round One: Laney scores a quick takedown and ends up in Hasting’s guard landing short jabs to the head. Hasting limiting damage by controlling Laney’s arms and head, and is even able to land a few hammer-fist strikes to Laney’s head from his back. Stalemate on the ground . . . referee stands up the fighters. Hasting takes Laney down after trading a few leg strikes to the torso and now has side control. Laney is attempting an arm-bar, but Hasting successfully defends. Both fighters are stood up after Hasting head-butts Laney… Hasting warned. Hasting lands a strong left roundhouse to the upper body and Laney retaliates with a strong left roundhouse of his own that lands on Jeremy’s shoulder and knocks him to the mat. Laney is able to land a huge straight right before Hasting is able to make his way back to his feet. Bell. Hasting is bleeding from his nose.

Round Two: Hasting lands a huge left roundhouse and body slams Nick to the mat. Fighters are tangled trying to gain an advantage and Laney eventually finds himself in Jeremy’s guard. Laney then quickly manoeuvres to side control slapping on a tight head and arm choke.

Winner: Nick Laney – TKO @ 1:24 of Round Two    

 

MAIN EVENT PRO 145LBS MMA

RICKY JOHNSON (1-3) INFINITE MMA  VS  TRAVIS HOLLIS (1-1)

Round One: Johnson begins fight with leg strikes to the torso and lower legs. Hollis is countering with L/R combo’s. Hollis clinches and lands heavy knees to the body, eventually bringing Johnson to the mat. Johnson has Hollis’s leg and is looking for a knee-bar, but Hollis is able to defend and takes side control with Johnson up against the cage. Hollis gains a full mount and is able to land srikes to the head. Johnson takes Hollis’s back attempting the RNC, then gives way to throwing forearms to the side of Johnson’s head. Hollis attempts an arm-bar, but is unsuccessful. Hollis starts working his way back to Johnson’s guard, but Johnson has control of Hollis’s head and successfully secures an arm-bar of his own.

Winner: Ricky Johnson – TKO @ 4:40 of Round One
