Floyd Mayweather, YouTube star Logan Paul book exhibition boxing match for February

(Editor’s note: This story originally published at USA TODAY Sports.)

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and social media star Logan Paul announced Sunday that they will fight each other in an exhibition bout scheduled for Feb. 20.

The Athletic reports the bout, which will be available on pay-per-view via Fanmio (starting at $24.99 per the announcement page), “has been in the works for a while.” The two have spent recent weeks exchanging barbs via social media.

Paul, 25, has twice fought fellow YouTube creator “KSI,” one bout being an official fight. His younger brother, Jake Paul, recently made headlines by knocking out former NBA player Nate Robinson in the co-feature bout on the recent Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. card.

Mayweather, 43, is 50-0 in his professional boxing career. His last official bout was in “The Money Fight” vs. former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor in August 2017. He did take part in an exhibition in Japan in December 2018.

With Paul, who turned his popularity on the app Vine into an extensive following on YouTube and Instagram (he has 22.6 million YouTube subscribers and 18.6 million Instagram followers) and Mayweather, himself a master marketer with a legion of fans (24.2 million Instagram followers), this exhibition bout is sure to draw some eyeballs.

Angela Hill announces positive COVID-19 test, out of Tecia Torres rematch at UFC 256

The rematch between Angela Hill and Tecia Torres will have to wait.

Hill (12-9 MMA, 6-9 UFC) announced on Sunday that she’s out of her scheduled strawweight fight with Torres (11-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) on Saturday at UFC 256 after testing positive for COVID-19.

According to Hill, she took all the necessary precautions in training camp. She still tested positive, though, and won’t be fighting at UFC Apex in Las Vegas (via Instagram):

A post shared by Angela “Overkill” Hill (@angieoverkill)

Unfortunately I tested positive for Covid-19 and won’t be fighting next week. Tried to stay as safe as possible during fightcamp but with mma training there’s virtually no social distancing. Was really looking forward to running it back, maybe we still can in the near future. #CovidFuckingUpEveryonesSeason #UFC256

It’s unknown at this time if the UFC plans on rescheduling the fight between Hill and Torres, or if Torres will receiving a new opponent on less than six days’ notice.

The latest UFC 256 lineup now includes:

  • Tony Ferguson vs. Charles Oliveira
  • Rafael Fiziev vs. Renato Moicano

Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Jack Hermansson after UFC on ESPN 19 loss?

(ALSO SEE: Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Marvin Vettori after UFC on ESPN 19 win?)

Jack Hermansson’s heart and toughness was on full display against Marvin Vettori in the UFC on ESPN 19 main event, but that wasn’t enough to net him the win.

Hermansson (21-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) came up short in Saturday’s middleweight headliner, dropping a unanimous decision to Vettori (16-4-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) in the “Fight of the Night” at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Not long ago it seemed like “The Joker” was trending toward a title shot at 185 pounds, but he’s now lost two of his past three bouts, with the setbacks coming against Vettori and Jared Cannonier in main event opportunities.

What does the loss mean for Hermansson? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on his future after UFC on ESPN 19.

Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Marvin Vettori after UFC on ESPN 19 win?

(ALSO SEE: Sean Shelby’s Shoes: What’s next for Jack Hermansson after UFC on ESPN 19 loss?)

Marvin Vettori proved his worth as a middleweight elite on Saturday when he claimed his first main event win by defeating Jack Hermansson at UFC on ESPN 19.

Vettori (16-4-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) showed his skillset is deeper than previously recognized when he went tooth-and-nail with Hermansson (21-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) for all five rounds, emerging with a unanimous decision at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

With four consecutive wins to his credit at 185 pounds, Vettori is pushing for a high profile bout for his next outing. He originally targeted Paulo Costa, but then changed his mind and said he should be next to challenge champion Israel Adesanya, who he fought to a competitive decision against at UFC on FOX 29 in April 2018.

What makes most sense or Vettori going forward, though? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on his future after UFC on ESPN 19.
